The snake recalls the healing power of Aescapulus the Healer from Ancient Greece and now the symbol of Medicine.

Paying homage to Marcel Duchamp and his 2-D, 3D artwork.

A three dimensional object on a two dimensional plane [paper] which is also a three dimensional object due to the papers' sides.

Duchamp proposed that three dimensional objects cast a shadow that might have a fourth dimensional effect or a spiritual shadow cast by us as we are also three dimensional objects.

The 5th dimension being light.
