Modern Hands In Arcadia (Cronus)

Cronus is the personification of time. The Romans identified Cronus with their god Saturn.
Saturn, the Sower, was also a god of agriculture. He held a scythe and an hourglass.
Cronus eating his children was used in a poetic sense for time devouring all things, as in the old saying "nothing lasts forever"

"I was commissioned to do paintings for an Artist's Against War Exhibition: This is one of them".

Two severed hands floating in the road represent "modern disconnected people" upon the road of history, the further back into the background, the further one is into history. The salamander is a charm against the Devil. Crawling forth from a campfire they were thought to have been impervious to fire and are used as charms (worn on clothing) in Italy.

One is known by their works. "The hands create...it is important for those of us who have such gifts and who are successful to give something back in order to enrich the fabric of society".
